Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3 x 12 hour shifts, primarily days with some late night (evenings), holidays, on call/call per unit needs.

Job Description

The Electrophysiology RN functions primarily as the primary nurse or a circulator during electrophysiology procedures. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, safety review, clinical documentation, and coordination of care before, during, and immediately following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review patient’s medical history, medications, allergies, laboratory results, and procedural orders prior to procedures.
• Identify patient-specific risks or needs and coordinate with the Electrophysiologist, Anesthesia, APPs, and recovery staff.
• Maintain ongoing patient-focused assessment and documentation during procedures.
• Administer medications within scope and order parameters, and provide moderate sedation when applicable.
• Assist in circulatory duties, including setting up sterile supplies, pulling equipment, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available throughout procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the procedural team to ensure safe and efficient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NY RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant nursing role.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in moderate sedation.
